Monster

Hey, guys!
This time we’ll do an odd one, something in the line of k-pop :P I’m talking about EXO’s new song called “Monster”. This track got me hooked from the first listen. It’s about a love that is more like an obsession and it’s hard to give it up. The truth is that this song’s got some weird lyrics, but the fact that I don’t understand most of them makes them ok J) “You can call me monster” still has a ring to it.

Since we are listening to k-pop, how about a tea that has the same origin as this music genre? I’m suggesting Yujacha, a Korean honey lemon tea. In Korea, it’s traditionally made with the Yuja (유자) fruit (a relative of the lemon), but we’ll make it with lemon for obvious reasons. It has a lot of benefits for your immune system, energy levels, PH balance, digestion and many others.

And here is how you can make the Yujacha base:
Slice several lemons and remove the seeds. Place them in a clean pitcher or in another container, filling it about halfway up. Make sure the lemon slices are completely submerged in the honey so that they don’t spoil. Fill the rest of the container with raw, organic, unfiltered honey. Leave the container in a cool, dark place for about a week. During warm weather you can put the container in the fridge. It’s ready when it’s a thick syrup.

Now making the tea:
Take about 2 tablespoons of the Yujacha tea base and put it into a mug. Fill with boiling water and stir. That is it. Enjoy!

Make Me Like You

As the winter is leaving and the heat is finally coming, I think it should be celebrated with an ice tea and an upbeat track that will keep you in a magnificent mood all day, or something like that.

I imagine that everybody knows who Gwen Stefani is so there is no reason for me to say more, right? The song that I’ll be referring to today is called „Make Me Like You” and is exactly that kind of song that gets stuck in your head because it’s happy, has easy & cute lyrics and a beat that makes you wanna dance & just have a good time. Plus, if you are in the same state of mind like I am right now, you will relate with what Gwen is singing from start to finish... „Why'd you have to go and make me like you?”:P . I’m definitely going to sing it all day thinking about someone :).

Ice Tea... perfect to beat the heat or just perfect in general. How about black currant ice tea?Doesn't that sound delicious? Thanks to the black tea that’s in it, this tea will give you the energy to enjoy the song to the fullest and the black currant will make your skin look better and healthier because of its anti-ageing proprieties. Splendid ;). I’m going to give you the best recipe for this ice tea. All you need is:

2 Tbsp black tea
4 cups (1L) cold water
1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp black currant juice (not from concentrate)
Fresh mint leaves, if you like.

Boil the water. In a large teapot, add the black tea, pour the boiled water over the top and let it steep for at least 5 to 10 minutes. (I prefer a stronger tea flavor for this drink, so I let the tea steep for 10 minutes.)
When the tea is at your preferred strength, take the black tea out. Pour the tea into a large measuring cup that will hold at least 5 cups(1.25 L) of hot liquid. Add honey and stir until dissolved. Add black currant juice and store covered in the fridge. Add ice into glasses and pour in the tea; garnish with fresh mint leaves.

Forever Lost

This is a song that I've loved for the past four years. It's pretty sad, full of melancholic sounds, but it makes me feel good although it’s the kind of song that you would listen to when you feel down.

The song is called "Forever Lost" and it's by God is an Astronaut. Weird name for a band, I know, but I think this is actually one of my favorite names especially when it comes to this music genre. It's called post-rock, the genre that I love the most. This is what I listen to when I'm by myself. The band comes from Ireland and is currently one of the world's biggest instrumental groups. And like all the bands nowadays, they describe their music as "a photograph or a snapshot of who we are in that moment of time". That's pretty great since I love their music.

Like I said before I've known it for the past four years or more. It's a beautiful, relaxing and moving, and absolutely incredible song. It starts a little slow and kind of depressing, but slowly begins building up more and more and by the first minute you are hooked. It's a rollercoaster of emotions. The last 2 minutes build up to the point where you can't let go and you shouldn't. I absolutely adore this song and I wanted to share this experience with you.

Since this could be a song that you listen to when you're down, I think it will pair up nicely with a citrus tea, like orange or lemon, or even better, try honey lemon tea.

Because the scent of citrus has been proven to boost your mood, and tanks to the high level of antioxidants found in tea, this makes a far better choice for the blues than a bottle of Jack Daniel's or a bucket of ice cream, even though you sometimes need that too.
Citrus has a lot of benefits, and in combination with tea all those benefits are doubled. That makes them a must-have, a must-try of the day.

Here is how you should make it, and the ingredients you need:

1 cup of water
2 teaspoons of honey
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Heat the water, but don't bring it to a boil, then add the honey and the lemon juice and mix until the honey dissolves. That is it. If you want it to be sweeter add sugar.

PILLOWTALK

I don't know what kind of music you guys listen to, but my first song will be one that I've hold it dear for the last two weeks or more now that I think about it. It reminds me of someone and the sweet moments between us, and there were nany, especially with this song in the background, moments that I'm pretty sure I'm not going to forget any time soon and I definitely don't want to.

The song is called "Pillow Talk", it's by Zayn Malik, the guy how left One Direction for some reason. It's an R&B song has a lot of hooks, and the lyrics are pretty interesting. They make me happy and put me in a certain mood, for which it was intended. It's a song about sex. The lyrics are pretty implicit with that "reckless behavior" and "f***ing in, fighting on, it's our paradise and our war zone". But the lyric that I love the most it's definitely "be in bed all day" that makes me think of something more than sex, something like just staying in one place with someone you like and not feel the hours passing by and completely forgetting about everything that is going on in the world. That feeling doesn't happen often, but when it does I think this is the perfect song to put everything in action.

It's a pretty good song that not everyone likes but for those of you who do I think it will pair up good with the cinnamon and ginger tea.
Both cinnamon and ginger are considered aphrodisiacs because; cinnamon increases appetite, both physical and sexual, it arouses women and men, but the smell seems to really get men going; and ginger because of its scent and because it stimulates the circulatory system. So both, together, make the perfect tea especially for this song.
Cinnamon and ginger have other benefits other than just being aphrodisiacs. Cinnamon stimulates brain function, relieves arthritis, fights common colds and flu, and ginger relieves nausea, has anti-viral properties and it's an aid in digestion. So they're not just for "fun" or to help you with the motion of the ocean, even though I said ginger relives nausea :D, but it will definitely help you make things happen if that's what you want.
I am not a big fan of cinnamon, I think it smells like gingerbread and I don't like that, but it smells like Christmas too and that I like. If you don't know how to prepare a cinnamon tea I will help you with that and give you a recipe.

Here is what you need for this tea:

500 ml of water
1/2 teaspoon of ginger
1 Cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon of clove
lemon or orange juice (depends on your preference)

Put the water, the cinnamon, the grate ginger and the clove in a pot and bring them to boil. Put the lemon or orange juice in and let them slow boil for about 15 minutes and let it sit for another 15 minutes. Filtrate the composition afterwards and serve it simple, with honey or maple syrup.
The more you let the tea sit, the more flavor it has, but be careful because ginger has a peppery taste.
You can put more cinnamon if you like and use Ceylon and not Cassia cause it's easier to brake it into pieces.
That's about it.
