New York

Hey guys!

Today I’m going to keep it short and start directly with the song. It comes from the indie, pop, alternative artist St. Vincent, a pseudonym of Annie Clark, and it’s a sweet and mellow track called “New York”. Her vocal are amazing and they seem to emerge you in its sound; and apparently according to the artist “It’s my whole life in a song”.  You might not enjoy it form the start like I did but it’s still a great melody to at least give it a listen.

And now for the tea, I’m choosing Fall For Chai because autumn is already here. It’s a combination of: black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, licorice root, coriander seed and orange peel. This tea will wrap you up in a well-deserved embrace with all its flavors and aromas. Plus it’s a perfect morning of afternoon teas especially for the days when you can’t open your eyes to see the beauty of this world.

Periscope

Today we are diving right in and we are starting with the song. I’m listening to “Periscope” by Papa Roach featuring Skylar Grey and I have to say till yesterday I didn’t like this track but something change and now I’m really enjoying it. This song seems to be about an unrequited love, either within a relationship or out of one. It’s a more melodic tune, somehow moody and not that heavily based beat that use to fill us in their previous work. Plus after a few listens you will start to feel that infectious sound that fills the atmosphere.

As for the tea, I’m choosing something that will give you a little energy and frees your spirit. It’s called Samurai Chai Maté and it’s a blend composed of: green maté, rooibos, cinnamon, pineapple & papaya pieces, orange peels, lemongrass, aniseed, coriander and cardamom. This is a sweet and spicy infusion that embodies the way of the warrior, a combination to help you face every new day samurai-style :D.

Old School

Hey you!

So today I’m in the mood for something with oranges and I think I have the perfect tea to stop my craving. It’s called the Orange & Cardamom and it’s a full of spices and just the right amount of orange. It has: rooibos, carrot flakes, ground almonds, Indian basil, cinnamon, orange and chocolate, anise, cloves, ginger, coriander, pepper, cardamom, cumin.

Now for the tune, I’m choosing a song from the Swedish indie pop band Urban Cone that was released recently. It’s called “Old School” and it’s a pretty romantic track. This groovy and funky with beats that just make you wanna dance. Plus the lyrics are cute, with lines like: “Let me take you downtown/ Date night, I'll make it/ Make it all about you”.

Intro

Hey guys!

It’s that time again; it’s the birthday of one of my good friends and favorite people. It might be that her day won’t be full of people but I’m pretty sure that the one that care about her, we are wishing her a wonderful day and a great year, full of realizations and happiness.

Her choices are… for the song “Intro” from the band The XX. This has been one of my favorite track for a few years now and it’s even been my alarm tune so I really agree with the choice.  It’s a song that just made this band something to follow and it’s still something quite unique. Whenever I listen to it, it just gives me a relaxing feeling or it just makes me feel invincible like nothing in the world can stop me. I’m sure she feels the same whenever the song is playing.

And for the tea, she choose the Nepal Masala, which is no surprise for me, I’m just glad she stopped drinking stuff that had almonds in it J). This one will definitely give you energy and make your heart beat faster and if you timed it right and have your certain someone nearby you can even try the motion of the ocean since it has a lot of spices that are considered aphrodisiacs.  So this blend is a mix of: black tea, cinnamon, anise, cloves, ginger, coriander, black pepper, cardamom, cumin. Just add a little milk and enjoy the day.

High Enough

Hey you!

So today I’m going to choose a tea that I’m pretty sure it’s not to my liking but one of my favorite persons in the world she’s going to love it. It’s called Butter Truffle tea and it’s a combination of: black tea, pistachio, cumin, almond flakes, coriander and pink pepper. This tea has a buttery, smooth finish even with or without milk. Plus it has that amarettini biscuits taste to it so for those of you that like those biscuits this tea is going to be an instant favorite.

As for the song I’m choosing “High Enough” by K.Flay an indie, hip-hop artist from Chicago.  The lyrics are extremely good and the melody seams to build on a loop that allows her voice and rap to really shine. For the most part of the song I really agree with what the song says , especially all the comparison with how a certain person can make you feel. This is my favorite lyric: “Oh you’re phenomenal, feel like a domino, fall to my knees/ I am a malady, you are my galaxy, my sweet relief”.  That’s about it, now…

In Cold Blood

Hey guys!

Today I’m listening to something weirder than usual, not exactly my cup of tea but somehow I like the song. It’s called “In Cold Blood” and it’s from the British indie, alternative, electronic, rock band Alt-J. The track came out a few hours ago and it full of complex and futuristic cuts and with a big bass line. Plus that “la la la” vocal hook that seems to bring everything closer together.

And my choice in tea today is Volcano. It’s a black tea with apple, cinnamon, cardamom, orange, red pepper and coriander. Plus some organic oils that make the taste even better. With just a little milk and maybe something sweet on the side, it’s definitely the beverage I’m going to enjoy as my afternoon tea.

Highs & Lows

Hey guys!

Today I’ll try to get right to the point, so let’s start. There is a track today that makes me feel better. It’s an R&B melody by Emeli Sandé and it’s called “Highs & Lows”. It’s a classic for he, it has the piano, small choir and clapping. But something about this one doesn’t feel like an emotion roller-coaster with is a very good thing. This tune will help you have a good day and help you manage the day. At least it does for me.

As for the tea, I’m thinking of something that has turmeric cause I really like it now. So let’s drink the Stimulating Tea which is a combination of: ginger, cardamom, cloves, turmeric root, coriander and nutmeg. I know some of you are going to enjoy it, and maybe find a new love in it.

Shape Of You

Hey you!

So today we are going to listen to Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You”. This track has a good vibe to it, and sound it’s a looped guitar and something that resembles a marimba. That makes for a good tune since Ed matched his acoustic guitar to a techno beat and added some lyrics in which you feel his desire. Apparently this track was intended for Rihanna but he kept it for himself, and right now I got to say that I’m glad for that. There is one more thing to say. This is my favorite lyrics: “Girl, you know I want your love/ Your love was handmade for somebody like me”.

Since this song is about desire and the shape of your body I think that the tea should give you a certain state of mind and maybe help you make something happen. This tea is called Pitta and its full of aphrodisiacs. It’s a blend of: cinnamon, cardamom, licorice root, coriander, fennel, ginger, rose petals. I know this tea might help you with the motion of the ocean if you are in that moon but is better to avoid excessive consumption. That is it for today.

Water Under The Bridge

Hey guys!

Today’s song is going to be “Water Under The Bridge” by Adele, because I woke up singing the chorus, which is my favorite part btw. Her voice is so beautiful and I just love it, and in this song she gives me a good feeling. This track is about her relationship with her boyfriend, like a lot of her songs, but this one is more about that moment when the relationship gets serious, and then getting a bit scared by it. After that realizing that this is where you wanna be for as long as you possibly can, and I can relate with that.

Now for the tea, I’m thinking of something that will keep giving that good feeling and make you enjoy life just a bit more. And because if that my choice is going to be the Honey Ginger Cinnamon tea. It’s a blend of:  cinnamon, sage, basil, lemongrass, ginger, sea buckthorn, black pepper, verbena and coriander. Just when you are ready to drink this perfect beverage add a little honey. It will be even better.

Hurricane

Hey guys!

Today I have for you a track that I’m not sure that all of you are going to like. It’s a metalcore, hardcore, progressive song from the British band While She Sleeps, it’s called “Hurricane”. I just love that guitar riff and the drums that just kick hard. Plus I love when that chorus comes and everything seems to go even harder. “It will take a hurricane” that’s just my favorite part.

As for the tea, something with spices will pair nicely with the melody. A Spice Redbush Hunter's Tea, how does that sound? It a blend of: rooibos, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, orange peel, cardamom, black pepper, coriander and raspberry pieces. It will energize you without the jitters from the caffeine.

Happy

Today is one of those days when I’m happy for no reason and I’m giving in into this mood. So I’m going to drink a tea that brings me more happiness thanks to the memories of the first time that I drank this tea, in one of my favorite places in the world, with one of my favorite people in my life.

Volcano, that is what it’s called, a blend of black tea (Ceylon), apple, cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, orange, red pepper and natural oils. This tastes soo good that I can’t even describe it. It’s a piece of heaven, at least for me. It will energize you almost immediately, so it’s the most logical choice in some mornings or afternoons.

Now I’m picking a song that makes me wanna dance from the start to its finish. „Happy”by C2C, also known as Coups2Cross, feat Derek Martin. That’s a French „band” composed of 4 DJs. This track puts you in motion and it gives you a good feeling all thru the day. The lyrics aren’t complicated, they just say „You’ll never feel happy until you try”, and that folks, is the secret of life. Give it a try I’m sure you’ll going to love it.
