Wildfire

Hey, you!

Let’s listen today to “Wildfire” by Seafret, an English duo; one plays the guitar and the other sings. Pretty easy hmm… It's a slow-building, folk-rock song that grows in energy and grows on you with every listen. The lyrics talk about love and how that makes you feel: “Cold, torn, and pulled apart”, but we have to remember that “I needed sunshine in the darkness burning out,/Well now I know that I'm the fuel and she's the spark”. And that how it should always be.

Now I’m thinking that green tea fits perfectly with this song, and even better, when we combine it with chocolate. So today let’s enjoy a White Chocolate Coconut Latte! It’s a mix of: green tea, flavorings, coconut pieces & white chocolate bites. It has a divine taste that will just take you to heaven.

Starving

Hey!

Today I’m drinking a green tea with hibiscus, apple, raspberries, licorice root and peppermint. It’s a fruity pleasure (maybe that’s what I should call it) that has a sweet and minty taste, and it’s the perfect beverage for an afternoon. You can even add ice if you still feel some hot waves ;).

The song should be something as sweet as the tea, and I’m thinking about “Starving” by Hailee Steinfeld featuring Grey and Zedd. It’s a song that seems to have a lot of influences, but nevertheless, a perfect blend. Grey, the EDM duo, does a great job assisting Zedd’s electro beats. “I didn't know that I was starving 'til I tasted you/ Don't need no butterflies when you give me the whole damn zoo”. This one is my favorite even thou it’s so cheesy. Anywaaaaay…

Take Me Down

Hey!

Remember all those stories and movies that reference to that crossroad where musicians sell their soul to the devil, in return for fame and fortune? Now we have the new single of The Pretty Reckless – “Take Me Down” that paints the picture perfectly: “Tell me your desire why you pulled me from the fire /and we'll seal the deal with a kiss”. Plus, at the end, you get Momsen singing “Sign with the devil” repeatedly, which is then backed up by a choir of backing singers.

Since this song is about the devil, let’s enjoy a drink in his name - The Devil Iced Tea. I’m not talking about the cocktail, even thou it’s almost the same, but with just a few minor differences.  The tea’s a combination of black tea, lemon, guava nectar, cinnamon and alcohol: tequila, rum and vodka (just 2 ounces of each), not enough to get you drunk, but just the right amount to make you sign a pact with the devil if necessary.

Sure and Certain

Jimmy Eat World is back, guys, and they’ve announced their coming back album. But before that, let’s enjoy one of their new tracks, “Sure and Certain”. It’s quite a good one I think. The guitar riff and the melody are heartwarming. “Sure and certain/Wander 'til we're old” it will get stuck in your head, and not just because it’s repeated throughout the song, but also because it’s so catchy.

Today I was in the mood for cherries and that made me think of Cherry Kiwi Coconut tea. That’s a blend of: apple pieces, coconut flakes, cherries, pieces of kiwi and cranberries. It has a sweet but sour taste, and it’s for sure a way to help you get up in the morning. All you need is sugar and ice to turn it into the perfect iced tea.

Take Me Home

Hey, you!

I’ve found this song a few weeks ago and it always seems to get stuck in my head every time I listen to it. Let’s see if it happens to you too. I’m talking about “Take Me Home” by the English singer and songwriter Jess Glynne. It’s a pop, soul track, with some beautiful vocals and lyrics that speak about love (of course!). “I know that somewhere better/'Cause you always take me there”. That feels so true when you find your other half :D

Now for the tea… I’m looking for something that will fit the mood, maybe even something with lavender. How about a Red Lavender Mate? That’s a combination of: green mate, lavender, and hibiscus. This tea will give you energy and in the same time, thanks to the lavender, it will help you get rid of your stress. Perfect combo, right?

Anywhere

Hey, guys!

Here comes that time again, when you have to help me wish happy birthday to a friend. And like always, they get to choose the song and the tea and I’m trying to make their combination work and, at the same time, to appreciate a long friendship. So let’s start!

“Anywhere” by Passenger, that’s her choice and a great one if I may say. This track is calming and soothing and it’s about finding the beauty in anything and admiring places, things and people with that special someone. The artist’s distinctive voice warms you up and wraps you in a lovely embrace. “Oh I'll go anywhere with you” that’s going to get stuck in your head, no wonder she loves this song so much.

Her favorite tea in chamomile and I thought we shouldn’t let it be just this simple thing. Let’s add some lemon or lemon juice, honey or sugar and ice and turn it into a perfect beverage for this warm weather. Alongside with this perfect song, it makes you think of summer. This tea will help you relax and enjoy your life to the fullest.

Kisses and Go drink your tea (and wish my friend “happy birthday!”), I’m already drinking mine.

Happy birthday my dear friend, have a great day and an even better tomorrow!

Whole Heart

Hey, guys!

Sorry for the long wait. I’ve experienced some technical difficulties, but it’s all good now, which means we can resume our daily routine and enjoy our tea with good music.

Let’s dive right in, head first, and listen to “Whole Heart” by Gryffin featuring Bipolar Sunshine. This is a mellow track with just the right amount of drops coming from Gryffin, along with the strums of an acoustic guitar that puts the focus on the lyrics. “Head first, past the point of no return/It's the only way left to go” those words keep me going. Altogether, a really enjoyable melody that belongs in the genre called future bass. I got to say it feels like the perfect name to it.

For the tea, I’m choosing one that will help you focus and enjoy the small things in life. And since here is a rainy day, this will definitely fit perfectly. It’s a mix of rooibos, lemon grass, peppermint, orange peel and lemon juice. It’s a personal blend that I don’t have a name for right now, but maybe later, I’ll come up with one.

Waste A Moment

Hey, guys!

Let’s just “Waste A Moment” and listen to Kings Of Leon’s new track. This song had me from the start with its slightly 90’s feel, those drums and Caleb’s voice singing “Take your time to waste a moment”. That fills me up with all the right kind of vibes and after the first listen I got to say it felt so satisfying to chant “WeHo” a bunch of times. It’s a good song, so give it a try.

As for the tea, let’s make something that really makes you enjoy this song. I’m thinking about a Mr. Grey tea.  It’s a mix of:  black tea, Bergamot, chocolate, silver sugar balls, red sprinkles and heather flowers. It has a sweet taste to it and it’s definitely worth a try.

The Greatest

Hey, you!

I know I’ve posted Sia before, but here comes another song that couldn’t go unmentioned – “The Greatest”. I love this song and, actually, it was love at first listen, in a cute moment sitting in bed and enjoying life, with the most perfect company. Sia’s vocals and lyrics, that make you just feel better and like you can do anything, are definitely going to be my anthem when I’m trying to do something new and scary. “I'm free to be the greatest, I'm alive”, that is the best pep talk anyone should need.

The tea is going to be an easy one since I got a new tea cup and the first thing I drank from it was a Masala chai tea, which is an Indian blend of black tea and spices. This one is a mix of ginger and cardamom, cinnamon, star anise, fennel seeds, nutmeg and cloves. This combination of flavors, mixed with milk, has the most interesting taste. I’m going to savor it with some chocolate brownies on the side, for a complete experience. My day is going to be great. I can tell.

Adventures

“Look into my eyes and show me of/ Adventures I haven’t seen”. These are the first lyrics of “Adventures” by William Ekh featuring Alexa Lusade, a techno, dance song with a great beat that should make you feel pretty good about yourself, and maybe make you feel like wanting to pack your things and go.

& let’s drink some oolong today! & even better, a Chocolate Decadence Oolong tea. That’s a blend of: oolong tea, coconut chips, roasted maté, carob pieces, licorice root and rose petals. It tastes like dark chocolate with a sugary coconut flavor. What more could you want?

Colourblind

Are you ready for an experimental, post-hardcore track? Today I’m going to talk about “Colourblind” by Hands Like Houses. This song has some good shifts in rhythm and some beautiful lyrics like: “Naming every shade of grey has left us colourblind”. And my favorite – “So close your eyes, let the colours fly”. The feeling that I get from this song is one of letting go of all the problems, all the worries, everything that is going wrong, and just fly.

I’m thinking pairing this song with a green tea, but an unexpected one – Cucumber Mint Iced Tea. That’s a mix of: green tea, cucumber and, of course, peppermint. It’s a refreshing drink, perfect for summer days, and most of all, perfect for those days when you need to let go. It will help you hydrate, relax and give you the energy to see the “colors” of the world.

I Was Wrong

Everyone wants to hear “I Was Wrong” every once in a while. And that is exactly what the boys in       A R I Z O N A are singing about in their single with the same name. It’s good to admit that sometimes we are not without flaws and that we sometimes make mistakes. “… oh you were right/ Won't try to say I'm sorry this time/ But I want you to know that I was wrong”. What more do we need? :P

Since this is such a mellow song, I’m thinking it should be paired up with something that will keep you in that mood – a Blue Lavender tea. That’s a combination of: lavender, blueberries, licorice root and apple. This could even turn into the perfect nightcap without all the alcohol.

In The Name Of Love

Hey, you!

Let’s start this day with a happy tune and a good vibe! So I’m introducing you “In The Name Of Love” by Martin Garrix featuring Bebe Rexha. It’s a the perfect combination between Bebe’s increasing soprano and Martin electronic dance beats, with some beautiful lyrics that make you think of “what would you do in the name of love” for the one you love (I would do pretty much anything). But the lyrics I most agree with are: “Would you rise up, come and meet me in the sky?/ Would you trust me when you're jumping from the heights?/ Would you fall in the name of love?”, mostly because I am afraid of heights, but I’m pretty sure I would fall :D

I’ve accumulated enough information to make my own perfect blends of flavors, and today I’ve combined my love of black tea, cherries and aniseed with, hopefully, someone else’s love of almonds :D in my Almond Cherry tea. It’s the perfect afternoon tea, with some biscuits on the side and some good company.

Blame It On This Song

Hey, guys!

Today, after I woke up, it was very hard for me to leave the bed, and it took me at least an hour to finally get up and go make my tea. But I did it. I’ve made myself a black tea, of course. But now, because it’s after 5pm, I’m having an even better idea for a black tea – a Ginger Black Iced Wine tea… long name I know. It’s a combination of black tea, ginger and ice cubes made out of red wine. This is going to make a great afternoon tradition.

So let’s pair this tea with a song that gives me a summer vibe – "Blame It On This Song" by Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, a post-hardcore, pop-punk band from France. The intro is upbeat and the rhythm is cheery and happy. “Another summer counting clouds/ Singing songs we love too loud”, this sums up my summer perfectly :)

Try Everything

I’ve just re-watched Zootopia’s honest trailer and it made me wanna listen to “Try Everything” by Shakira. I got to say this song grew up on me more than I expected it to. It has some good beats that make you wanna dance and the perfect lyrics to make you wanna TRY something, try it all. ”Birds don't just fly/ They fall down and get up/ Nobody learns without getting it wrong”. Let’s keep that in mind and let’s Try Everything, at least once in a while.

Today let’s drink something that will give us the energy to try it all. So how about something with rooibos? I’m suggesting a Cinnamon Ginger Red tea. That’s a mix of: rooibos, cinnamon, ginger, aniseed and lemon. It has a sweet and spicy taste that will give you a boost of energy to get thru anything.

Life Afraid

Let’s try to dance a bit and listen to “Life Afraid” by Set It Off. This song has a pop, R&B-ish feel to it that I think makes it even better.  & let’s enjoy every second of our life because “I’m alive,/I’m breathing today”! What else do we need to make it in the world?

Now the tea… it should be something energetic and with a sugary taste to it. Let’s try an Apple Green Mate! That’s a mix of: green mate, apple, hibiscus, licorice root and black currant. Doesn’t that sound good? Trust me, it tastes even better in real life and has a lot of benefits for you.
