Dream State

Hey guys!

Today my going to share with you a track that might take you on a ride with a everything it’s going on with its sound. It’s from the electronic, experimental, trip-hop band Son Lux and it’s called “Dream Stare”. It’s filed with layers of synths, woodwinds, walking a fine line of never sounding too electronic or computerized but also it seems like Son Lux deconstructs music itself and patch it back together in their image. Plus this song explores growing up, precisely the understanding of mortality, brilliantly showing the relaxed state of youth.

And for the tea, I’m choosing a green one. Something that will invigorate you, give you a little energy and help your immune system.  It’s called Aloe Vera & Coconut and it’s a wonderful blend made with: green tea, spirulina, vitamin complex with Aloe Vera, coconut, mallow flowers.  It has a wonderful taste, refreshing and light perfect for almost any hour of the day.

Saw You In A Dream

Hey guys!

Today we are slowing things down and we are enjoying life as it is. And for that I have the perfect tea to share with you, it’s a black tea and green tea with jasmine, rose petals, cornflowers and sunflower petals. This is a fresh and full body tea, bursting with fragrances and just the right amount of caffeine to help you make your day great. I've named this tea The Flower Power :D

As for the song my choice is “Saw You In A Dream” by The Japanese House an indie, electronic, experimental and ambient artist from London. This is a sweet and mellow song that just seems to calm me down, relax and feel the world around me. Written about the death of an old childhood friend the tune has a melancholic and hazy instrumental line perfectly a lined with the light and smooth voice of Amber Bain. And even if you don’t know the true meaning of the song it’s still makes sense as a love song, a heart-break song.

Feel It Still

Hey guys!

Today let’s listen to something that will pump us up and give us a great feeling. This track comes from the experimental indie rock band Portugal. The Man and it’s called "Feel It Still". It’s one of those songs that when it plays on the radio you’ll just turn it up or if you are like me you’ll really enjoy hearing all those beats and bass within the comfort of your headphones. Plus “Oooh wooo, I'm a rebel just for kicks now” is the best line J)

As for the tea, I know the perfect pair. It’s called the Teaquila Sunrise and it’s a beautiful red blend mixed with hints of oranges and lemon. It’s an infusion of: yerba maté, hibiscus, cinnamon, peppermint, lemongrass, rose hips, orange peel. And you can make extra yummy just by adding just a pinch of actual tequila.

Vampire

Good Day! Or at least that’s how it feels to me.

Today we are going to have a weird track in our mist. It’s called “Vampire” and it’s by Nitemayor, they used to be called Lazyboy Empire. It’s an anthem for this creature apparently, with a sax filled vibe, and some clever lyrics. This song keeps me in a good mood and sometimes it even makes me wanna dance. “This is how it starts/ Little bit of wine” and “Well tonight I want to live forever/ Baby I can take you there with me” make everything come together. For me, maybe you’ll find something else to cling on to.

As for the tea, I think that a black tea might make everything even better. How about Black is the new Black tea? It’s a blend of black tea (English breakfast and Assam), elderberries, all-spice and licorice root. This will give you energy and it’s and it’s an absolutely delight to drink it, especially when you feel the lovely aroma of elderberries.

True North

Hey guys!

Since it’s the start of a new week I thought we should all try something different. This week I bought some turmeric and I think this is the perfect new thing to try. I found a blend
Turm It Up! which is a combination of: turmeric, hibiscus, lemon peel, ginger and if you like a bit of vanilla. It’s a fruity blend with a spice taste to it. And because turmeric is a superfood, this tea is packed full of benefits.

And now when it comes to the song my choice is going to be “True North” by You.May.Die.In.The.Desert. This band comes from Seattle and their music fits in the post-rock, instrumental, experimental genres. It’s a very enjoyable track full of bits to follow and your mood might change with them. It will get you pumped and ready for anything that this day might bring you.

The Drugs

Hey you!

So I couldn’t sleep last night and I thought that listening to some music might help me out. That didn’t happened cause I found this song and I fell in love with it instantly and it’s been on repeat ever since. It’s called “The Drugs” and it’s by Mother Mother. It’s an indie, experimental, rock band from Canada. The lyrics talk about how loving that one person give you a feeling even better than drugs: “Cause you're hotter than the sun/ And you're better than the drugs/ I used to love”. And that’s just the first lyrics of this track :D. Give it a listen, you might enjoy it.

As for the tea, I think it should be a Chocolate Raspberry Truffl tea? It’s a blend of: black tea, raspberries, chocolate bits, cocoa bits, chili flakes, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. This tea will give you energy and because almost every ingredients are well known aphrodisiacs, this will help you with the motion of the ocean if need comes.

Colourblind

Are you ready for an experimental, post-hardcore track? Today I’m going to talk about “Colourblind” by Hands Like Houses. This song has some good shifts in rhythm and some beautiful lyrics like: “Naming every shade of grey has left us colourblind”. And my favorite – “So close your eyes, let the colours fly”. The feeling that I get from this song is one of letting go of all the problems, all the worries, everything that is going wrong, and just fly.

I’m thinking pairing this song with a green tea, but an unexpected one – Cucumber Mint Iced Tea. That’s a mix of: green tea, cucumber and, of course, peppermint. It’s a refreshing drink, perfect for summer days, and most of all, perfect for those days when you need to let go. It will help you hydrate, relax and give you the energy to see the “colors” of the world.

Don’t Lose Your Heart

Today, let’s drink something refreshing! Soo… how about a Mediterranean Blend? It’s a mix of mint, hibiscus, orange peel, licorice root and lemon peel. It has a slightly sweet taste that is perfect for the days you just wanna stay at home and do nothing. But it can also give you a bit of energy or even help you have a great night sleep. It goes both ways, but either way it has a divine taste.

Now the song. I’m going to choose “Don’t Lose Your Heart” by Dream On Dreamer, a post-hardcore, alternative rock band from Australia. This track has an experimental edge and a dramatic shift. Plus, the lyrics have an encouraging tone – “Right back at the start, kid, don’t lose your heart/ Till you’re where you wanna be”. And my personal favorite “It takes courage to not be the same”.
