Candy Cane Lane

Hey!

Here in Romania finally started to snow and it gave me a holiday mood and because of that I’m listening to Sia’s new track “Candy Cane Lane” from her Christmas album “Everyday Is Christmas”. I liked this song from the start, it’s new, it’s not just another cover of an old carol, it’s happy and Sia’s voice makes this track somehow more of cheer. It’s a pop tune stuffed full of sleigh bells and saxophones that give it extra magical powers. My favorite part is when she sings: “we'll eat all the candy canes”, it just makes me happy.

As for the I’m choosing Gingerbread Latté which is a blend made form rooibos with ginger, cinnamon, currants, pineapple bits, and safflowers. It contains no caffeine but it will still bring you a boost in energy and especially when it comes to you mood. It’s definitely a holiday blend meant to be enjoyed on a snow day, in a warm place with a blanked around.

The Sights

Hey guys!

Today I’m trying a new tea, one called Green Tea Walnut. This contains some wonderful ingredients that create an excellent tea, especially perfect for the holidays, tropical yet traditional. This blend is a mix of:  green tea with brittle bits, candied pineapple, coconut rasps, walnut bits, and almond flakes. With every sip you will fell an impeccable balance between the taste of nuts and maple with bold tropical fruit, a delicious blend that I’m sure you guys are going to love. 

As for the song, I’m choosing something that came out a few days ago “The Sights” from the English band Enter Shikari. This track has a different sound then their older tracks that I’m use to but it’s still great, more for the masses then for the fans of experimental post-hardcore genre.  This tune is about the fear and anticipation of starting a new chapter in your life. And this is my favorite lyric: “I'm leaving this Earth for the stars tonight/ And now I'm running to board the flight”, it perfectly sums up the start in every situation. That’s it for today, now…

Perfect Places

Hey!

Today I am listening to Lorde’s new single “Perfect Places” that talks about escaping life thru drugs and alcohol and that imperfect world that creates. It’s has something that made me fall in love with this song immediately, it’s not to melodramatic, and it’s just the right amount of well-balanced vocals and electronic and instrumental sounds. My favorite lyrics are at the end when she says “Trying to find these perfect places/ What the fuck are perfect places anyway?”, it’s exactly how you feel when you realize what you are doing, drowning the reality in different kinds of drugs.

As for the tea, I’m choosing something with a sweet taste so we have a little more syrupiness in our life. The tea is called Fairy Guava Strawberry and it’s a perfect blend of: diced pineapple, hibiscus flowers, apple pieces, strawberry pieces, rose-hip peel, guava flakes, pineapple flakes and crunchy pieces of guava. It’s fruity, good for your health and you can drink it at any time of day.

Revolution Radio

Hey guys!

Let’s have some fun today since the weekend is right on the corner and enjoy something that will give us energy. Something like Mount Everest Special tea, this is a perfect blend of: black tea, green tea, pineapple, strawberries and blueberries. It’s fruity, full of aromas, sweet and most especially it will give you the drive to finish the day and start you weekend in full of glory.

And now for the song, my choice is “Revolution Radio” by Green Day. It’s a very dynamic punk track that just makes you wanna jump and dance to it from the first few seconds. It’s full of guitar riffs and especially loud drum kicks, which I like, that makes this track feel like it’s one of their old song but with a little more maturity. And the video is full of nostalgia showing clips of their 26 years of working and making music and it’s shot in the same club where they first played.

Your Song

Hey you!

So the last couple of days were filled with emotion and I’ve got to say that I found my happiness is someone else’s smile. There was a point yesterday when I was speechless and I realized that I’ve never felt like that for anyone before. And because of that the new single from Rita Ora which I've listened more than 100 times and I still can hear it some more is the perfect choice to express my feelings. The track is called “Your Song” and it’s an upbeat, radio friendly tune, full of positivity and it just gives you a feeling that everything is going right and that’s where your life is right now.  Plus the her voice is on point and the lyrics are beautifully written, and my favorite is: “When I kiss your lips, feel my heartbeat thump”.

Now for the tea, I’m going to choose something that is perfect to help you beat the heat. It’s called a Hot Pink Lemonade, and it’s an herbal tea that gives you a refreshing and it gives to that summer flavor a new and improved update. This blend is made of: apple pieces, lemongrass, candied pineapple pieces, hibiscus, candied papaya pieces, beetroot pieces, vervain, lemon peels, orange blossoms, marigold blossoms. It’s the perfect taste, the perfect color and the perfect way to enjoy summer.

Don't You Feel It

Right now I’m in the mood for something fruity and I think that the Elephant Blend tea might do the trick. This is a perfect combination of: rooibos tea, banana flakes, coconut, mango pieces, pineapple flakes, papaya and orange slices. It’s an exotic combination, creamy and sweet that will help you brighten you day.

As for the song, I’m choosing the drum and bass powerhouse Sub Focus new pop, club base track “Don’t You Feel It” featuring ALMA.  This is quite the infectious tune, it has a lot of hooks and it somehow showcases Sub Focus ability to conquer any kind of genre. Plus ALMA’s voice is just the right amount of soft and powerful and it brings this song to a full circle. That’s about it for today…

Love Is A Bitch

So today I am listening to “Love Is A Bitch” by Two Feet an indie, jazz even blues artist. This is a song that you can listen to when you are alone and just enjoy the beat and life with the amazing lyrics. The raspy voice and the instrumental break just make this tune even better. Plus “Your mama says I'm a fool/ And yeah, maybe that's true 'cause I can't stop thinkin' 'bout you” and then when the instrumental break comes is my favorite part.

And for the tea, I’m going to choose a fruit one perfect for this summer days and with a little bit of ice might be the greatest beverage you can enjoy. It’s called Mandarin Mimosa and it’s a blend made of: apple pieces, lemongrass, mandarin, mango, marigold petals, orange peels, papaya pieces, pineapple piece and strawberry (if you like this kind of berries).

Teenage Fantasy

Hello!

I was thinking that today me might enjoy something refreshing and smooth, something that will give you a surge of flavors. Because of that my choice is going to be Beach Bellini Herbal Tea. It’s composed by a sweet and tropical wave of ingredients, like: apple pieces, pineapple pieces, papaya pieces, mango pieces, tangerine slices, apple slices, physalis, rose buds and petals. With just a little ice it tastes like a splash of summer sunshine and if you add a little Champagne like the classic cocktail from which is inspired you will have a celebration of bubbles.

And for the song, I’m picking “Teenage Fantasy” by the UK’s songwriter Jorja Smith. It’s a laid back track, filled with jazz and R&B influences that are wrapped in with a nice bow by her powerful and soulful voice. The track is about questioning a romantic choice: “I was told by my mother,/ If I look into the future,/ Do I really see this boy,/ That I think I’ve fallen for?". Plus apparently she wrote this song when she was 16 (now she 20) and the track features humming recorded while Smith was babysitting at that age.

Periscope

Today we are diving right in and we are starting with the song. I’m listening to “Periscope” by Papa Roach featuring Skylar Grey and I have to say till yesterday I didn’t like this track but something change and now I’m really enjoying it. This song seems to be about an unrequited love, either within a relationship or out of one. It’s a more melodic tune, somehow moody and not that heavily based beat that use to fill us in their previous work. Plus after a few listens you will start to feel that infectious sound that fills the atmosphere.

As for the tea, I’m choosing something that will give you a little energy and frees your spirit. It’s called Samurai Chai Maté and it’s a blend composed of: green maté, rooibos, cinnamon, pineapple & papaya pieces, orange peels, lemongrass, aniseed, coriander and cardamom. This is a sweet and spicy infusion that embodies the way of the warrior, a combination to help you face every new day samurai-style :D.

Say No More

Hey guys!

Today we have another rock, electronic even a little pop song on our entries form the Connecticut band Forget Tomorrow. The track is called “Say No More” and it’s a great way to show how different genres work and how you can blend them together. You can hear real sound through this melody, clean vocal, those piano keys playing, guitar riff and most especially (for me) the drums kicking; all together make a great song that almost everybody can appreciate.

As for the tea, my choice is going to be Flavored Raspberry Tart. It’s a green tea with pineapple 

pieces, apple cubes, raspberries, flowers of immortelles. It’s a fresh with a sweet aroma of a tart, a fantastic smell and just enough raspberries to taste good but not so much to overwhelm the green tea. And since summer is just around the corner you can add some ice and turn it into a perfect beverage for the hot weather.

Today we are going to listen to some indie pop from the L.A. band Sir Sly. The song it’s called “High” and it’s incredibly catchy especially when you get to the chorus and hear “It feels good to be running from the devil”. And with each listen it gets even better. It’s a fun and easy to listen track that will make you dance. For me it’s already been on repeat for a few days now, hope it has a similar effect for you guys too.

And now for the tea I’m choosing a green tea, one with a lot of green tea :D. It’s called Eight Treasures of Shaolin and it made of 8^th different kinds of green tea. The blend contains: Sencha tea, Gunpowder tea, mini Tuo Tea, Chun Mee, Pai Mun Tan, Lung Ching, Snow bud, Pi Lo Chun, pineapple, strawberry bits & sunflowers blossoms. It’s tasty and has a reinvigorating and grounding feel to it.

The Noise

Hey guys!

Let’s listen to something with more of a beat, and with more of a rock vibe to it. How about “The Noise” from the indie-rock band Castlecomer? It’s a funky track that makes you wanna dance and have a good time. It’s energetic and with great vocals. Plus the introduction of the song with the strong guitar riff and the drums kicking that build up to the vocals just make this a perfect song.

As for the tea, I’m thinking that Happy Colada, an infusion of fruits might make our day a little better. This bland has a lot going for it, it’s full of aromas and a taste in which you can feel that the summer in coming. So this is a mix of: pineapple and apple bits, hibiscus flowers, rose-hip and orange peel, coconut flakes and freeze-dried sour cherry.

We Are Your Friends

So today let’s drink a red tea and listen to an old song. We are going to enjoy a Sweet Fruit tea witch is a blend of: rooibos with papaya bits, pineapple & apple bits, orange peel, cinnamon & rosebuds. It’s exactly like its name says, sweet and fruity, and with a hint of apple pie. It’s full of flavors and it’s perfect for any occasions and at any time of the day.

As for the song, I’m choosing “We Are Your Friends” by Justice vs Simian. Told you it’s an old one but I woke up this morning and the beat was in my head and maybe now it’s in yours too. It’s an electronic, pop track from 2006 that won a best video award from MTV Europe Music Award that made Kanye West angry and crashed the stage when the award was being presented to the French duo :)) . But the beat and lyrics are easy to follow, it seems to on a loop but that make the song what it is.

Not Above Love

‘ello!

I found this track yesterday and it got stuck in my head ever since. It’s called “Not Above Love” and it’s by the English duo AlunaGeorge. It’s a trip-hop, electronic, r&b track with some ingenious lyrics that talk about trying to escape a relationship in which you are taken advantage of and just regaining your heart and journey thru.  Something like this “You keep robbing my heart like a bank/ No thank you, no thank you”.

As for the tea, I think something fruity will do the trick here. Plus something with cinnamon cause this week I’ve been craving that a lot. This tea it’s called the Cinnamon/Roasted Almonds and it’s a mix of: pieces of apple, pineapple bits, cinnamon, toasted pumpkin seeds, raisins, coconut flakes, pieces of raspberry and poppy flowers.

Cigarette Burns

Today I’m craving berries and fruits, and because of that I’m going to choose the tea Blueberry Fizz. This is a combination of: pineapple, pieces of apple, beetroot, blueberries, lemon zest. It’s one of my favorite tisane to drink and when is warmer outside you can even turn it into a iced tea. I live the taste of it and its red-ish color gives me a very good summer vibe.

As for the song I’m thinking of something with a down tempo, some easy beats and a voice that brings everything close together. Something like “Cigarette Burns” by Flunk a Norwegian electronic band. This track is smooth and calming, and her high pitch voice gives you the feeling of an old timely band. There is definitely a good vibe to this tune, it will warm you and give energy for whatever you need to do.

Mind

Hey guys!

This weekend I went to a party and someone put this song in the mix and it’s been stuck in my head ever since. I’ve listen to this track before but now I got to say I love it. I’m talking about Skrillex & Diplo tune “Mind” featuring Kai. First time I listen this song I was surprised that Skrillex singed but after that I did some research and find out that he used to be the lead singer in the post-hardcore, screamo band From First To Last. There is no comparison between what he was doing than and what he’s doing now but it’s an interesting fact to know.  

As for the song I think a black tea would be a perfect pairing for this track, mainly because I really need to wake up. So my choice is My Lady, a blend of: black tea, pineapple chunks, raisins, rose petals and cornflowers. This tea has a nice aroma, will give you energy and it will leave you wanting more.

Soldier

Hey guys!

So today I read an article about what kind of tea you should drink and at what hours.  It said that you should start the day with a white tea, early in the morning, then at 11 pm you should drink a green tea. In the afternoon at 5 of chorus, a black tea, and right when you get ready to sleep an oolong tea. It’s a nice concept, I don’t think I could do that, I need my caffeine early in the morning, but it’s a good thing to know, maybe some of you might find it useful.  And now since its closer to 11am than early in the morning let’s try a green tea. The Sencha Fantasia, a green tea with marigold flower, thistle, cornflowers, pineapple chunks, naranguilla, mango. It’s a wonderful tea full of favors and it’s just got a mesmerizing smell. It will make you wish for more every time you drink it.

As for the song, I’ve found a track that goes perfectly with our tea. It’s called “Soldier” by Fleurie an indie artist with a brilliant voice that transports you all thru the melody. I’m not sure what to tell you about it; it’s just one of those songs that I fell in love with from the first listen. It gives me a good mood and makes me enjoy my life.

Take Me Over

Hey guys!

A few hours ago I found this song and it took me over. It’s from the band Red, a Christian rock, alternative, hard rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. I think this track is supposed to be a prayer or a plea for redemption. But I anyone how listens to this tune will find its own meaning.  I enjoy the melody, those fast drum kicks, guitar riff and the lyrics are quite catchy. It’s called “Take Me Over” and I find this song to be more romantic than anything else.

Now for the tea, my choice is Angel Tears. It’s a blend of: green tea (Liu An Gua Pian) and white tea (Pai Mu Tan) , red pepper corns and pineapple bits. This tea has a sweet taste, it’s invigorating and it will help with the energy levels for the entire day.

Shake Up Christmas

It’s Christmas!!!

Presents, snow (or no snow in my case), family and food! That’s all I need, and maybe a tea and song combination to make it the perfect day.  The truth is that a have a few Christmas songs that I like and it’s very hard to choose, maybe “Rudolph the red nose reindeer” or “Santa Clause is coming to town” or “Winter Wonderland”, damn are too many. In the last few years because of Coca-Cola commercials, Train’s song “Shake Up Christmas” puts me in the giving mood. So that is going to be my choice.

As for the tea, I know the perfect one. It’s called Christmas Tea Royal, and it’s a blend of black tea, pineapple bits, almonds (for the one’s that like them), cloves, cinnamon and ginger. It’s the perfect wintery beverage enjoyed with some milk and maybe some of Santa’s cookies.

Speeding Cars

Hello!

Today I was feeling the need for some green tea but I wasn’t sure what should I try, so I choose something I knew I would always like, something with cherries. I’m talking about Sakura Allure Green tea. It’s a blend of: green tea, hibiscus, cherries, mango pieces, pineapple pieces, rose petals, lemon peels, rosebuds, cranberry pieces. It has a fruit taste, a little light than I like but still does a good job making me enjoy everything that is good in this tea and in life.

Today's song, let's see... I think I’ve listen to it before because the chorus seams familiar. Maybe because it’s really easy: “We're singing/ Heya heya heya heya/ Heya, heya heya”. I’m talking about “Speeding Cars” by Walking On Cars which is an rock, indie rock band from Ireland. This track starts with a piano intro that slowly graduates to the lyrics. After that you’ll hear the drums and guitars that will turn this song into something even better. Plus the husky voice of Patrick Sheehy will make this a song to remember.
