Hey, guys!
Let’s talk today about another Jonas (from the Jonas Brothers). Nick Jonas and Tove Lo have a new track called „Close”. This song has a stunning melody because the voices of the two artists blend perfectly and sound amazing together. It's a track that has a hint of R&B, but it’s a quite powerful pop melody that starts slow, with some beat drops that build up so that, by the time the chorus comes, you feel hooked and a little bit provoked ;) The lyrics are pretty cute and exciting, especially “space is just a word made up by someone who’s afraid to get close”. Truly brilliant! This song gives me the right kind of feeling, especially when I think about a certain someone.

For the tea, I’m choosing Muira Puama because this song for me is quite stimulating and inspiring. Muira Puama grows in the Brazilian rainforest and is an aphrodisiac that has been used as such for centuries. It helps reducing anxiety, boosts your physical abilities, gives you energy & improves your desire and sexual satisfaction (perfect for when you wanna try the motion of the ocean). So, go ahead, enjoy them both!

Today I wanted another kind of tea to wake me up in the morning besides the black tea, something that would taste like happiness and I think I found it. It’s called Happy Jumble, a blend of currant fruits, mint, rose-hip, carrot flakes, lemon balm, sage, mallow, sunflower petals, mate& claw immortelles. This tea will give you energy, help you with your skin health and heart, will boost your brain power and will reduce anxiety. It’s been a great idea for this morning (and for any other morning for that matter).

I’m going to pair this tea with a melody that will make you happily want to move, something in the line of „HandClap”by Fitz And The Tantrums (an indie, funk, pop group from L.A.) This song made me actually clap my hands and put me in a very good mood. It’s a track about love and desire that you can find sang in lyrics like „You're like a drug to me, a luxury, my sugar and gold”.Isn’t that a very nice way to tell someone that you want them, need them, crave them?It’s even nicer if you’re the one they want, need or crave, amIright? Iu-hu! Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Our Love Will Survive

„If the sun don’t shine”, even though the sun will shine eventually, but if for some reason the sun won’t shine, Wild Belle tells us that „Our Love Will Survive”. I like this track. It’s mellow and sweet, and Natalie Bergman soulful voice is perfectly balanced by the down tempo of the song. It's a calming melody that you can listen to when you just wanna chill in bed; it’s perfect for those Sunday mornings when all you want to do is to stay in bed, maybe listen to some music and definitely drink some tea. My recommendation sounds something like:

Yoga tea– a blend of cinnamon, ginger, cloves, stinging nettle leaves, white pepper corns & cardamom seeds. This beverage will help your heart and blood pressure, it’s good against nausea and depression and it’s perfect for all those other reasons you don’t want to leave the comfort of your bed. It has a bit of a spicy taste that maybe isn’t for everyone, but I’m sure some of you guys will definitely enjoy it.

Cake By The Ocean

Goooooood day!!!

I’m in a great mood right now and this song helped me keep this state longer. I’m talking about „Cake By The Ocean” by DNCE (if some of you missed Joe Jonas, here he is). With lyrics filled with obvious sexual innuendos, the track is a groovy experiment with a mature underlying meaning: "You're a real life fantasy, you're a real life fantasy, but you're moving so carefully, let's start living dangerously". Quite a good track that gets stuck in your head so easily. Seems like such a summer song, although I've been listening to it on repeat for the past two days and it’s still spring.

Since this song is so sweet and makes me think of summer, let’s have a tea that does the same: a blueberry-lemon iced tea. You should always have something cold and refreshing in your fridge, and this iced tea is a perfect idea. In addition, I will give you a recipe that will cover you in sweetness all over.

Ingredients:

1 pack of frozen blueberries

1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

4 cups water

4 tbs black tea

3/4 cup sugar

Preparation:

Bring the frozen blueberries and the fresh lemon juice to a boil in a large saucepan, over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and pour through a fine wire-mesh strainer into a bowl, using the back of a spoon to squeeze out the juice. Discard the solids. Wipe the saucepan clean.

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in same saucepan; add the black tea and let it stand for 5 minutes. Remove and discard of the tea leaves. Stir in 3/4 cup sugar and the blueberry juice mixture. Pour into a pitcher; cover and chill for 1 hour. Serve over ice.

Wide Open

Hey!

Today, after a stroll in the park and a lot of laughter with some friends, I was showed this song exactly as I got home, and it was the perfect end to a beautiful day– a little melancholic and nostalgic, but in a good way. „Wide Open” by The Chemical Brothers featuring Beck is a heartbreaking track, full of echoing lyrics that describe how someone has been slipping away in a brighter and lovesick way, not all sad, but definitely not all happy. „It's getting away from me” it’s going to get stuck in your head, not just because it’s repeated all throughout the song, but because sometimes it’s soooo true.

And because we’re talking how to „wide open”, how about some Wings of a Dove?(A tea, of course) It’s a blend of green & white tea, pomegranate, blueberry & goji berries. This tea will calm you down and help you with any kind of mood by nicely relaxing you. Plus, it has a lot of other benefits: for your blood pressure, your heart and skin health and your brain activity.

Boys Like You

Today I tried this new tea, not exactly new but a first for me: an Indian specialty or, better said, a tradition. I’m talking about Chai tea, more specifically the Maharaja Chai Oolong Tea. It's an oolong tea with spices like: cinnamon, ginger, cloves, peppers, chicory root, carob and cardamom. A very vigorous, booming and powerful blend that will just make you step a little lighter and happier today. And you can even get hooked on it.

Since this tea seems so joyful to me, I’m choosing a song that makes me wanna dance and have a good time: „Boys Like You” by Who Is Fancy featuring Meghan Trainor & Ariana Grande. It’s a light and insanely catchy song that the voices of all three artists make it into a very intriguing release. „Try try try to follow the rules, I break everyone of them with boys like you”, that’s the lyric I’ll be singing all day.

K-141 KYPCK

Hello!

Today I want to talk to you about a song that I've known for a long time. It’s kind of depressing, as it should be, I guess. The song is called „K-141 KYPCK” and it’s by Ef, a post-rock band from Sweden. It’s a track about the Russian submarine K-141 Kursk that sank in the Barents Sea on the 12th August 2000. It’s a powerful song even without you knowing the meaning behind its creation. For me it's a roller coaster of emotions that goes from feeling low to being well and just calm with everything in my life. I especially find myself in this song in the 3th minute; it’s just perfect.

Since this band made an effort and wrote a song about this Russian tragedy, I’m going to choose the Russian Caravan tea, a classic smoked black tea, made with a blend of lapsang souchong. Russian Caravan is not actually from Russia; however it was made popular along the trade route from China to Russia. This tea is lower in caffeine than other black teas and I think it has the right gravity to be a perfect match for this powerful, commemorative song.

Lush Life

Good morning!

Today, like a lot of my days, I woke up with a song stuck in my head. It has a great beat that makes me want to move and dance „Doin' it all night, all summer, Doin' it the way I wanna”. If you don’t know what I’m talking about yet, I’ll give you a hint: the singer is an 18 year old girl from Sweden. Yeah, I’m talking about Zara Larsson and her single „Lush Life”. It’s a summer tune, is a fun, upbeat and somewhat electronic pop song, catchy & quite unique. Plus her voice that elevates this song to another level.

And for the tea... let’s see. I just woke up so I need something to help me leave my bed, a Get Up Tea: a blend of lemon balm, currant leaves, rose-hip, apple pieces, peppermint, hibiscus, lemon verbena leaves & cornflowers. Since there is no black tea in this one, there is no caffeine either, but there is hibiscus and peppermint which will give you the energy to start the day the right way and live it „as if it was the last”.

I Get To Love You

Hey, guys!

The first time I heard this song, all I could make out was the piano and just a few lyrics, but I fell in love with it instantly. Its melody makes you explore all your feelings, not only because of the piano, but because of the artist’s voice. I’m talking about Ruelle and her song „I Get To Love You”. This track is amazing and doesn’t disappoint, especially with lyrics like „Whatever may come, your heart I will choose.” Who doesn’t want that, someone that feels so happy loving you?

Let’s see, the tea should be something like pink and fluffy and lovable, right? I know a tea that’s called Love Tea. This one’s a blend of rose petals, damiana leaf, orange peel, cacao nibs, cinnamon and, if you like, you can add vanilla beans (I personally don’t like vanilla, but maybe you do). This tea will help you with your skin health, blood pressure and at least 2 of the ingredients are considered aphrodisiacs which means this tea can help with the motion of the ocean :P So enjoy it, you might even Love it. I’m sure I do.

Hysteria

I’m in a rock-ish mood and I’m not sure how long it will last, but I’m taking advantage of it.

I’m listening to Muse (there is no need for me to talk about them, I trust everybody has heard of this band). „Hysteria”, quite an old song of theirs, but one with a powerful sound that gives you a boost from the start and makes you wanna jump up & down with its rhythm. It’s a catchy tune that you can listen to on repeat like I’m doing right now :D

With this rhythm I’m sure that a spice tea will go perfectly. Spice Cocoa is a mix of cacao beans, cinnamon, licorice root, apple, ginger, clove, nutmeg, black pepper and, if you like it, vanilla. Cacao and the licorice root will energize you; apple, ginger & nutmeg will improve you immune system; clove and cinnamon will help you with the motion of the ocean, and black pepper and vanilla will help you to lose weight. A lot of benefits in just a cup of tea, don’t you think?
