Shape Of You

Hey you!

So today we are going to listen to Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You”. This track has a good vibe to it, and sound it’s a looped guitar and something that resembles a marimba. That makes for a good tune since Ed matched his acoustic guitar to a techno beat and added some lyrics in which you feel his desire. Apparently this track was intended for Rihanna but he kept it for himself, and right now I got to say that I’m glad for that. There is one more thing to say. This is my favorite lyrics: “Girl, you know I want your love/ Your love was handmade for somebody like me”.

Since this song is about desire and the shape of your body I think that the tea should give you a certain state of mind and maybe help you make something happen. This tea is called Pitta and its full of aphrodisiacs. It’s a blend of: cinnamon, cardamom, licorice root, coriander, fennel, ginger, rose petals. I know this tea might help you with the motion of the ocean if you are in that moon but is better to avoid excessive consumption. That is it for today.

Mind

Hey guys!

This weekend I went to a party and someone put this song in the mix and it’s been stuck in my head ever since. I’ve listen to this track before but now I got to say I love it. I’m talking about Skrillex & Diplo tune “Mind” featuring Kai. First time I listen this song I was surprised that Skrillex singed but after that I did some research and find out that he used to be the lead singer in the post-hardcore, screamo band From First To Last. There is no comparison between what he was doing than and what he’s doing now but it’s an interesting fact to know.  

As for the song I think a black tea would be a perfect pairing for this track, mainly because I really need to wake up. So my choice is My Lady, a blend of: black tea, pineapple chunks, raisins, rose petals and cornflowers. This tea has a nice aroma, will give you energy and it will leave you wanting more.

Love & Other Drugs

Hello!

Guys, today’s entry is going to be another post-hardcore, alternative or progressive track. But his time it’s not form a British band it’s from one down under, Australia. The band it’s called The Comfort and their song is “Love & Other Drugs”. I’ve been listening to this tune on repeat for the past 4 days and I’m still not sick of it. I just adore how the chorus sounds and the lyrics are pretty great too. But tell you the truth all that I’ve been singing is “I need your love, I need your love”. I’m sure you will do the same just after one listen.

For the tea I’m going to choose an infusion, a tisane. It’s called Almond and it’s a blend of: pieces of apple, almond, cinnamon and beetroot. It’s a very simple tea, it has a lot of benefits and for those of you how like the taste of almonds you are going to love this one.

Fever

Hey guys!

This morning I woke up feeling the need for some green tea, I didn’t have any preferences, just to relax me. And because of that I’ve searched for some blends and I found the perfect one. It’s called the Oolong Jasmine, Stinging Nettle, and it’s a mix of: oolong green tea, nettle leaves, jasmine flowers and lemongrass. This tea has a lot of flavors and it made my morning.

Now for the song … I’m listening to another post-hardcore, alternative band from the UK. I think that the British have something in their blood when it comes to this kind of music :D. Let’s get back to our usual discussion and let’s give a listen to “Fever” by Deaf Havana. This track is more gentile than other made by this band, but this is still has a good guitar riff and of course some pretty placed drum 

kicks.

Water Under The Bridge

Hey guys!

Today’s song is going to be “Water Under The Bridge” by Adele, because I woke up singing the chorus, which is my favorite part btw. Her voice is so beautiful and I just love it, and in this song she gives me a good feeling. This track is about her relationship with her boyfriend, like a lot of her songs, but this one is more about that moment when the relationship gets serious, and then getting a bit scared by it. After that realizing that this is where you wanna be for as long as you possibly can, and I can relate with that.

Now for the tea, I’m thinking of something that will keep giving that good feeling and make you enjoy life just a bit more. And because if that my choice is going to be the Honey Ginger Cinnamon tea. It’s a blend of:  cinnamon, sage, basil, lemongrass, ginger, sea buckthorn, black pepper, verbena and coriander. Just when you are ready to drink this perfect beverage add a little honey. It will be even better.

Hurricane

Hey guys!

Today I have for you a track that I’m not sure that all of you are going to like. It’s a metalcore, hardcore, progressive song from the British band While She Sleeps, it’s called “Hurricane”. I just love that guitar riff and the drums that just kick hard. Plus I love when that chorus comes and everything seems to go even harder. “It will take a hurricane” that’s just my favorite part.

As for the tea, something with spices will pair nicely with the melody. A Spice Redbush Hunter's Tea, how does that sound? It a blend of: rooibos, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, orange peel, cardamom, black pepper, coriander and raspberry pieces. It will energize you without the jitters from the caffeine.

Giving It Up

Hello!

So today I am craving some green tea, maybe one with a little punch to it, something that will keep me in a good mood and give me some energy. Soo… how about a Ginger/Lemon tea? It’s a combination of: green tea, ginger, lemon peel and lemon pieces. This tea will definitely give me the drive I need to keep going today.

The rest of the energy we need, we’ll get thru the song. I found this track today and because of the guitar play, the drums kicking and most especially because of that voices that bring everything together. I’m talking about “Giving It Up” by Mallory Knox, a rock, post-rock, alternative band from the UK. It might not be easy to sing along to this song because of the high pitched backing in the chorus it’s still catchy and spirited.

Had Enough

Hey guys!

Right now I’m listening to “Had Enough” by Lower Than Atlantis, a rock, hardcore, post-hardcore band from the UK. This track is about what the title suggests, cause we all have those days and this melody can be the background music for it. “I hate everyone that I meet/ But I'm getting better” this are the first lyrics and you see were the track is going from the beginning. And when you get to my favorite part “The smile on my face is fake/ And the vein on my head suggests you get running” you will start to agree with this song.

As for the tea, I could’ve easily chosen a black tea but if you really are in that state of mind as the melody suggests you shouldn’t drink something that will energize you. So because that my choice is the Free and Easy tisane. It’s a blend of: chamomile, orange peel, apple pieces, and cinnamon, ginger pieces, linden, nettle leaves, leaves of wild strawberry, orange blossom, clove.

Using You

Hello!

So I just found a very cute song that seems to be stuck in my head. It’s called “Using You” by Mars Argo, an indie, synthpop duo. Her voice is just soooo adorable, it’s something I’m glad I found and now I have in my life. This track has some lyrics that are inappropriate because of a certain pause put at the right time “You're the only one who's making me come/ To my sinful senses” but I think that makes this song even better :D

Now for the tea, I think that the Cinnamon Punch tea will fit right in. It’s a mix of: rooibos, pieces of apple, heather flowers, candied sugar, cinnamon, orange peel, cloves, cornflowers, cardamom. This will relax you and maybe even give you another way to look at life. It’s sweet and it’s a natural therapeutic. You can enjoy this tea at whatever hour of the day you want.

Hard On Myself

 Hey guys!

It’s that time again… It’s the birthday of other friend of mine and you have to help me in wishing him a Happy Birthday! I’ve known him for a few years now and every time I’m in his presence I always seem to have a good time. I can laugh with him and just enjoy life. So dear friend this is for you.

His choice in song is “Hard On Myself” by Hemming a songwriter from Philadelphia. This song is a bit sad for my taste but it’s still a great one. It has a good rhythm and some beautiful lyrics that make you feel what this artist is singing. You can feel her passion and all her ups and downs. The end of this track it’s going to be stuck forever in my head. And of this is my favorite part, especially when the drums start kicking: “I can't regret who I've been/ I can't expect to always win”.   

As for the tea, he is not an actual tea lover but he gave me instructions. It has to wine and extra honey. For the honey part you can do it yourself, if you like it sweet just add more, the rest is up to me. And my choose is the Mulled Wine Tea. Here in Romania drinking mulled wine in the winter it’s a must, I even like it sometimes, and I’m not a big fan of wine:D. Sooo… this tea is a blend of: oolong tea, apple bits, clove, ginger, aniseed, cinnamon, orange peel and of course wine, red wine to be exact. The way you prepare this tea it’s pretty easy. Instead of boiling the water you boil de wine and add all the other ingredients. I hope you like it, if not I’m sorry I’ve tried.

Mariage D'Amour

Hey guys!

I’m thinking that today we should apt for something more easy, mellow and romantic if I may say so. One of my favorite piano music its “Mariage d'amour” by Paul de Senneville is a French melody composer born in 1933. He has a lot of beautiful pieces written but this is the one that makes me feel loved. It’s usually played by pianist Richard Clayderman, and that’s how I came to know of this melody, and I’m forever grateful. Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.

As for the tea, I’m thinking something with lavender, and a very simple one to make to; a Red Lavender Tea. This tea it’s a combination of rooibos and lavender, that’s it. It’s perfect at night when you want to relax. It doesn’t contain caffeine so you will have a marvelous sleep. It’s one of my favorite blends and I couldn’t think to pair it with something else than Paul de Senneville’s melody.

Never Again

Hey guys!

So I was thinking that today will start by drinking a white tea, and one of my favorites. It’s blend of white tea, pomegranate, hibiscus and lemongrass. It’s a light creation of flavors that make a gentile pick-me-up. It’s a delicious combination that will give a bit of energy to carry thou the day. As for the name it’s very simple. It’s called Pomegranate White Tea :D

Now since pomegranate means rebirth I think that the song “Never Again” by Breaking Benjamin it’s the ideal choice, especially since that is what this track speaks about. I have to say, I missed listening to this post-grunge band and now that they have a new album it’s going to be hard not to reminisce about a different time in my life, but “Never again/ Time will not take the life from me”. It’s a: been there, done that track. Maybe you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Until the Morning

Hey guys!

I was shuffling thru my playlists when this song popped and I fell in love with it again. I’m talking about “Until The Morning” by Thievery Corporation featuring Emilíana Torrini. It’s a chill out, trip-hop track that gives me warmth whenever I listen to it. Emilíana’s voice can take you places; you just have to close your eyes and just enjoy the ride. “The sun will warm your soul” stays with me even after the song has ended.

Now for the tea I’m choosing something in the same line of warmth and smooth as the melody. It’s going to be a fruity tea, actually a tisane that will be perfect for anyone how wants to try it. It’s a blend of: cranberry, raspberry, sugar crystals, linden flowers and orange sea buckthorn and it’s called Tastes Like Snow.  It has a refreshing taste of orange, cranberry and sea buckthorn and since it doesn’t contain caffeine you can drink it at any hour.

Hey You!

Today seems like the perfect day to just enjoy the world and the life and love out there, and because of that I have chosen a tea that does that exact thing. It’s called Colorful and it’s an herbal blend of: apple bits, cumin, orange peel, lemongrass, rose petals, cornflowers and marigold.  I love this tea because most of the herbs have meanings to then and that makes the taste even better, at least for me. Like the marigold is a symbol of sunny days with good health, joy, and affection. So let’s have a very great day, appreciate the sun and have a blast with whomever is right there with us.

Since this tea is so easy going and will give you a good mood, let’s keep that and let’s listen to “K.” by Cigarettes After Sex. An ambient pop collective, at least that’s the self-description by these musicians. This song creates an emotional road like longing for someone you love “Think I like you best when you’re just with me”. It’s a seductive track with a soft melody and a voice that blends perfectly. “Stay with me I don't want you to leave...” it’s the feeling this song gives to me.

From Here To Mars

Hey you!

Here is a song that I just find adorable. It’s a love song of course, that explains the things love makes you feel, or see when it comes to a certain someone.  “From Here To Mars” it’s the name of this track and it’s by We The Kings an American pop-punk, pop-rock band. It has an upbeat melody and some beautiful lyrics that I really agree with :D, mostly this one: “Forever lost inside your eyes/ Every galaxy spinning inside”.

Now because Mars it the red planet how about we drink a red too. A Spicy Chilli? It’s a combination of: rooibos, rosebuds, rose petals, carrot flakes, saffron and chili flakes. It has a stunning aroma and a perfect smell, I don’t think you can just drink this once and not try it again; it’s that kind of tea.

The Cause

Hey guys!

Today is a very cold day, at least here in Romania. My phone says that right now there are -21˚C so you really know that everything is frozen outside. And because of that the perfect tea is going to be something that might help you keep warm and not catch a cold in the mid time. It’s called a Rooibos Mexican Winter and it’s a combination of: : rooibos, orange peels, cinnamon, coconut rasps, chili bits, pink pepper. Perfect to assistance you in putting on a brave face when it comes to the cold and frozen weather.

And now that it’s time for the song, maybe isn’t the perfect combination but I really like this track ever since I found it. It’s by Laura Gibson, an indie, folk singer and songwriter from the US. The song it’s called “The Cause” and it’s just a stunning arrangement of drums and violins with her flawless voice bringing them all together.  I think my favorite part comes at the end of minute 2.

Soldier

Hey guys!

So today I read an article about what kind of tea you should drink and at what hours.  It said that you should start the day with a white tea, early in the morning, then at 11 pm you should drink a green tea. In the afternoon at 5 of chorus, a black tea, and right when you get ready to sleep an oolong tea. It’s a nice concept, I don’t think I could do that, I need my caffeine early in the morning, but it’s a good thing to know, maybe some of you might find it useful.  And now since its closer to 11am than early in the morning let’s try a green tea. The Sencha Fantasia, a green tea with marigold flower, thistle, cornflowers, pineapple chunks, naranguilla, mango. It’s a wonderful tea full of favors and it’s just got a mesmerizing smell. It will make you wish for more every time you drink it.

As for the song, I’ve found a track that goes perfectly with our tea. It’s called “Soldier” by Fleurie an indie artist with a brilliant voice that transports you all thru the melody. I’m not sure what to tell you about it; it’s just one of those songs that I fell in love with from the first listen. It gives me a good mood and makes me enjoy my life.

Say Something Loving

Hey guys!

Today has been a cold day and I spend it in the house, drinking tea or hot coco and listening to music that fit the mood. Like the new track of The XX called “Say Something Loving”. It’s an electronic, indie a little alternative song that had me at the first few seconds. It’s melodic a little infectious that offers a simple yet frequently unnoticed take on romance and friendship. And this is the best part for me “Your touch stays on my skin/ I feel it start sinking in”. Give it a try, you might enjoy it.

And now when it comes to the tea, I found the perfect blend that will warm you up and reduce your stress. It’s called Winter Spice Tea, and it’s a combination of: Eleuthero root (also known as the Siberian ginseng), cinnamon, dandelion root, Astragalus root, orange peel, ginger, chicory root, licorice root, cardamom and some cloves. It’s a spicy, festive, delicious beverage that will live you wanting more.

Devil Devil

Hey guys!

It’s that special time again when you have to help me wish someone a very happy birthday. This time is my best friend’s big day. It’s the second time I’m doing this for him but at least this time it’s actually his birthday and his not being a cry baby like last time, just so I would write something for him. And like always it’s their choice in song and tea and I’ll have to make it work.

His choices are: “Devil Devil” by Milck, an indie, pop, alternative artist from LA. It’s a beautifully a bit haunting melody with lyrics to a suitably named song. Full of drops that make you fall to your knees. The power behind the beats is intense, and the voice is magnificent that lives you wanting more. So this brave and tense confrontation with the devil seems to be an inspiring anthem. If you ever feel like life is getting hard to do this track might put you back on your feet. So Dude, if you ever feel lost and down, know that you can do anything and that you’ll always have a friend in me.

And … the classic forest fruit tea (tisane actually). I don’t have much to say about this, it has fruits in them. I’m kidding, it’s an intense berry experience :D.  It seems that anybody who doesn’t like tea that much enjoys this blend and I think is because everybody loves fruits, and this mix has everything that the forest has to offer. Like: elderberries, blackberries, raspberry pieces and strawberry pieces, blueberries, black currants, sultanas, hibiscus and apple bits. So drinking this tea is going to be an absolute pleasure, especially for me.

What We Live For

Hey Guys!

Let's start with the tea today, I’m thinking of something not to flashy or with too much ingredients. Something like the Bang Bang! tea. It’s a combination of green tea, peppermint, cloves and licorice root. The green tea is perfectly paired with strong and cool peppermint, the warm and spicy hints of cloves and a lingering sweet whisper of licorice root.

Now for the song.... do you remember the band American Authors? They had the single “Best Day of My Life”. Still doesn’t ring a bell… they are a pop-rock, indie band from Boston. They have a track that I really enjoy, it’s catchy, upbeat and it keeps me in a good mood whenever I listen to it. It’s called “What We Live For” and it has some really nice guitar riffs and drum kicks. If I was feeling bad I’m all good now that I get to listen to this.

Take Me Over

Hey guys!

A few hours ago I found this song and it took me over. It’s from the band Red, a Christian rock, alternative, hard rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. I think this track is supposed to be a prayer or a plea for redemption. But I anyone how listens to this tune will find its own meaning.  I enjoy the melody, those fast drum kicks, guitar riff and the lyrics are quite catchy. It’s called “Take Me Over” and I find this song to be more romantic than anything else.

Now for the tea, my choice is Angel Tears. It’s a blend of: green tea (Liu An Gua Pian) and white tea (Pai Mu Tan) , red pepper corns and pineapple bits. This tea has a sweet taste, it’s invigorating and it will help with the energy levels for the entire day.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!!

We all made our wishes, our resolutions, we all know what we want to accomplish in this year. I am rooting for all of them to come true. So this text was supposed to be uploaded yesterday but someone went a little crazy at the New Year’s party and yesterday I spend my day in bed trying to regain all the energy I lost. When I say crazy I don’t mean I got drunk, cause I didn’t but I ate a little bit too much and I spent the night on the dance floor :D. It was like a course of aerobics, but with better music.

Now let’s listen to Abba’s “Happy New Year” cause it’s the best song for this occasion. Let’s enjoy that soft melody, full of wishes and just that great feeling that something better has yet to come. It’s my tradition to enjoy this track in the New Year and I’m passing it on to you guys.

As for the tea, I found a blend; I made some adjustments to it and it became the perfect mix for any time. It’s called Tea for the New Year and it’s a mix of: black and green tea, lavender, ginger, coconut, cornflowers,bergamot, lemon peel and rose-hips. It’s the perfect beverage to drink in the morning or afternoon, it will give you energy and it will fill your soul in a warm blanket.
