Chlorine

Today I discovered this song and I was surprised to find out what it’s about. “Chlorine” by Trophy Eyes, an Australian hardcore (melodic hardcore) band. The lyrics talk about two stories. One, the lead singer’s near death experience, in a swimming pool, and him being saved by a kid he knew in passing, and the other one’s about the suicide of that kid years later. These 2 stories get into the idea that the savior never once considered the importance of his actions in that swimming pool. Heavy I know, but a good song nevertheless.

Because of the heaviness of the song, I’m thinking we should drink something calming, something like a Serenita tea. It’s pretty easy to make, all you need is green tea, caramel bits, lavender and chamomile. That is it. But the result is going to be better than you might think. Enjoy!

What We Started

Let’s dive right in with a tea that will energize you and help you get thru the day with less caffeine than usual :D Does a green tea sound good? A Gingerly Mint tea maybe? That’s a blend of: green tea, peppermint, ginger and lemongrass. This has a spicy taste and it might be exactly what you are looking for.

“What We Started” by Don Diablo & Steve Aoki x Lush & Simon featuring BullySongs is an infectious track that plays around a few piano chords. Those are some big, thoughtful and moving pop sounds, and this is for sure a great song they've put together!

War

Hey, guys,

Have you heard that Sum 41 has come back? I didn’t enjoy their first single, “Fake My Own Death”, but I’m definitely enjoying “War”. This has the vibe of “Pieces”, that classic Sum 41 vibe that we all remember. The lyrics talk about struggling with your own demons but not losing the fight, and trying to make everything better for yourself. This is absolutely the year of comebacks for punk bands, I guess. First Blink 182, then Green Day and now Sum 41. They all dropped new songs and albums. Find your favorite one and enjoy it!

Now for the tea, I’m thinking of something sweet and refreshing, something that can calm down your mind, but also give you energy to fight your personal “war”. A Banana Apple Strawberry tea I think sounds perfect. It’s a mix of: green tea, banana chips, apple pieces, marigold flowers, pieces of strawberry and Chamomile. It has the right amount of everything to give it an absolutely amazing taste.

Good Together

Hey, you!

Sooo… today I’m feeling really good and happy, drinking my tea and just enjoying life :D Found a new love in the line of tea and music and I’m going to share it with you. First, I’ll start with the tea. It’s a personal blend which means I get to name it. So here it is: Sweet Heart tea. That’s a mix of: black tea, aniseed and raspberries. This has a heavenly taste with the most perfect touch of aromas, a red-ish color and a lot of benefits for your health.

Secondly, the song. I felt for this song from the first “oh”. When you’ll listen to it, you’ll see that’s right from the start. I’m talking about “Good Together” by Honne, a duo from the UK. This melody has a soulful, optimistic and funky feel to it, gives you the right kind of push to get thru the day. “Cause you and I we're good together, oh/ You always get me feeling better” … I like the “oh’s” in this song. They make me think of the perfect night in, with dinner and a movie… and maybe some music afterwards. Sounds pretty great, right?

Kids

“I refuse to look back thinking days were better/ Just because they're younger days” that is what Ryan in One Republic’s new single, “Kids”, sings. This song has a great blend of electronic, rock elements and some really awesome vocals that make this the REAL lead single from the band’s fourth studio album. This track gives me a good mood and I wanted to share that with you, sooo…enjoy!

Because this song gives me such a wonderful mood, I’m going to choose one of the most perfect blends that I know, with a lot of flavors that will make you feel heavenly :D I’m talking about Youthberry White tea, a combination of: white tea, mango pieces, pineapple pieces, rose hip peels, apple slices, hibiscus, red currants, rose petals, açaí fruit. Yum-my!

Hang On To The Night

Today was a good day for me, and now, I’m trying to turn it into an ever better night. And for that to happen we need 2 things: a song and a tea, right? So let’s start! I’m dinking a tea called Oriental Night that’s a blend of rooibos, cinnamon, anise and jasmine flowers. It has the most impeccable taste of all the flavors that just melt together and give you a calm and stress free mood, exactly what you need at night.

And the song is going to be “Hang On To The Night” by Tegan and Sara. It’s a chill track, with a simple beat and cute lyrics that are easy to follow. “Hang on to your hope/ You have so much you gotta get through” seems to be one of my favorite lyrics in this song, mainly because I find it so true :P Now let’s all enjoy our evening and night, and maybe even enjoy some lovely dreams.

Somebody’s Love

Hey, guys!

Right now I’m drinking my own blend of green tea; let’s call it a Jassy-Lavy Green tea. That’s a mix of: green tea, jasmine, lavender, apple pieces and orange pieces. It has a simple taste that will give you a mellow mood and help you keep your zen state of being for whatever purpose you need. Plus, it has a lot more benefits :D

“Somebody’s Love” by Passenger is an acoustic pop ballade that might make you cry a little, just like “Let Her Go” did in 2012. “You're gonna need somebody's arms to crawl into” seems to be the one lyric that gets stuck in my head. I’m not a big fan of sad songs, but this one doesn’t feel like that to me. It feels more like a track that I would listen to on a chilly night, looking at the stars, from my balcony. Maybe that is what I should do even if there are no stars out tonight :D

Kiss The Sky

Hey, guys!

Every once in a while, there comes a heat wave that makes me stay in my house, on the floor, trying to find a little shade :) While doing that, I’m always drinking an iced tea, a Beat The Heat tea, to be more exact. That’s a blend:of: raspberries, blackberries, lemon and orange. Pretty easy, right? You give it a try, I’m certain you are going to like it.

A few days ago, I found this track of Jason Derulo that gives me summer vibes. I’m talking about “Kiss The Sky”. This song has a groovy feel to it that might make you think of “Uptown Funk”. And who doesn’t like a chorus that says “Cause I believe we can fly now/ Spread your wings and kiss the sky”? This track has the melody to make my body move, so let’s dance (or maybe not, I’m still good on the floor)!

Bang Bang

Guys, let’s try some punk today! Let’s say some Green Day. Their new single, “Bang Bang”, is stuck on repeat here, at my house. It was an unexpected comeback, inspired by the unfortunate mass shooting in America, so they made a song actually the whole album. It’s a classic Green Day track, with limited chords used for an energetic effect, a hard punk rock sound.

Now the tea. I’m choosing a black tea to energize us and to match the beats of the song – a Cacao Mint Black Tea. That’s a mix of: black tea, cocoa pieces, coconut rasps and peppermint. It has the perfect taste to make your day go better and help you enjoy it even more.

Monster

Hey, guys!
This time we’ll do an odd one, something in the line of k-pop :P I’m talking about EXO’s new song called “Monster”. This track got me hooked from the first listen. It’s about a love that is more like an obsession and it’s hard to give it up. The truth is that this song’s got some weird lyrics, but the fact that I don’t understand most of them makes them ok J) “You can call me monster” still has a ring to it.

Since we are listening to k-pop, how about a tea that has the same origin as this music genre? I’m suggesting Yujacha, a Korean honey lemon tea. In Korea, it’s traditionally made with the Yuja (유자) fruit (a relative of the lemon), but we’ll make it with lemon for obvious reasons. It has a lot of benefits for your immune system, energy levels, PH balance, digestion and many others.

And here is how you can make the Yujacha base:
Slice several lemons and remove the seeds. Place them in a clean pitcher or in another container, filling it about halfway up. Make sure the lemon slices are completely submerged in the honey so that they don’t spoil. Fill the rest of the container with raw, organic, unfiltered honey. Leave the container in a cool, dark place for about a week. During warm weather you can put the container in the fridge. It’s ready when it’s a thick syrup.

Now making the tea:
Take about 2 tablespoons of the Yujacha tea base and put it into a mug. Fill with boiling water and stir. That is it. Enjoy!

Emperor’s New Clothes

Let’s talk about “Emperor’s New Clothes” by Panic! At The Disco. I’ve known this song since it first came out and every time I listen to it I fall just a little bit more in love with it. It’s a passionate and playful piece that makes me sing, or rather shout it, especially when this part comes on: “Heroes always get remembered/ But you know legends never die”. Who doesn’t wanna be a legend?

Since it’s after 5PM here, I’m thinking we should try Whisky Tea. Does it sound good? I think so. It’s just your usual black tea with milk and sugar, but with just a few drops of whisky in it. Not all that different in taste, but trust me, it’s a good difference in the effect it has on you. Quite obvious, isn’t it?

Particles

Hey, guys!

How about today we slow things down and listen to something that’s just as mesmerizing as we are? I’m suggesting “Particles” by Ólafur Arnalds featuring Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir. This song combines indie-rock sounds with the well-established neo-classic style of Ólafur Arnalds. I love everything about this track: the beautiful melody, the sweet voices and harmonious lyrics too. Please enjoy, cause I’m pretty sure that after one listen, you will feel the same.

Let’s see… I think the perfect tea for this song is something just as mellow and relaxing as it is, something like Chamomile Bloom Tea. That’s a blend of: chamomile, lemongrass, lemon balm, rose petals, lavender & marigold and some blackberries leaves.  You can even add some peppermint if you are a fan, it could make everything better.

Gemini Feed

Have you heard about Banks? She has a quite hypnotic track that talks about romantic relationships. The song is called “Gemini Feed” and I’m not sure what to say about it other than that I like it and I hope you give it a chance cause it has the feeling of a song that you will hear everywhere at some point.

Now the tea… because this song has a weirdly good feeling to it, I’m thinking I should try something that will give me a relaxing mood, something to help with stress and anxiety. That’s why a Chai Rooibos (rooibos, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom & fennel) should definitely do the trick.

Room To Breathe

Hey, guys!

Today I’ve been feeling a little sick (I ate too much, nothing else). And because I’m a bit nauseous, I’ll turn to the perfect tea for that: ginger tea. But even though I’m in a bad shape, doesn’t mean I have to drink it simple, so I think that a Blueberry Ginger tea might do me as good. That’s a mix of apple, ginger, blueberries, peppermint & lemongrass. Even if you’re not sick this is a great tea.

How about some rock music to shake the sickness away? Now I’m listening to “Room To Breathe” by You Me At Six. It’s a great track with a catchy chorus and some strong lyrics. This song had me at the first note, but right after that, this came: “I feel a little lost in this world”, everyone feels or felt that way. Plus my favorite “I'm just trying to be the best me I can be” and right then I knew for sure I’ll be listening to this one again and again and again...

Cheek To Cheek

Hey, you!

Today we’ll go old school and listen to Ella Fitzgerald’s and Louis Armstrong’s “Cheek To Cheek”. It’s one of my favorite songs because of its warm feeling and because it has some lovely lyrics that can make anyone feel better. That piano that plays all thru the song and their voices that smoothly intertwine make me imagine a beautiful night out with a certain someone, anyone else with me?

Right now I’m drinking an iced tea, a green mate with lavender, peppermint and raspberries (I found a new love in raspberries :P ). This will boost your energy levels and, somehow, will relax you or more like relieve stress and that is what we all need, right?

Build To Last

“Build To Last” by Melee. I’ve known this song for a long time, but it never made more sense to me like it does now. It has a catchy tune and some adorable lyrics. “You're in my heart now./And there's no escaping it for you.” J) Just saying that, that might be true mostly “'Cause you are the sun in my universe”. What a pretty way to put things!

When I think about or listen to this track, I see it going well with something sweet, something like a Sweet Orange tea. That’s a mix of green mate, orange peel and bits & licorice root. This will energize you and help you have a great day, actually a great time, no matter the hour.

Afraid Of Heights

Hey!
How about some alternative/punk rock today? I’m listening to “Afraid Of Heights” by Billy Talent, a band from Canada. This song has a catchy riff and a very good energy to it. It’s about following your dreams and knowing that when you get knocked down you have to get back up. And about so much more because no matter what happens “Together I know, together I know/We could conquer the stars beyond this world”.

Because of the good energy of this tune, I’m drinking something that has the same effect on me; a rooibos tea with Echinacea and some lemon just for the hack of it (actually for the taste cause its better). It has a lot of benefits, like for your immune system, skin health, energy levels, blood pressure and for whenever you feel stressed out.

That’s All I Need

Today I’m craving something with ginger and lemon and I think Fresh Ginger tea is the perfect combination that can soothe my craving. It’s a blend of lemongrass, blueberries, ginger, peppermint, lemon & black pepper. A little spice and just the right amount of perfection. Just add some ice and it will make the best ice tea for these hot summer days.

Now I’m listening to a song that has a cheerful piece of laidback summer vibe – “That’s All I Need” by Dirty Heads. It’s a feel good tune, with sweet lyrics that talk about just chilling :D “There ain't no place I'd rather be/I'm talking bout right here, right now/That's all I need” and “I love the way it feels when the sun shines down on me”. Feels like the perfect summer anthem.

Out Of My League

Hey you!

What a perfect morning, right!?! I was woken up at 4AM when someone thought it was a good idea to send me this song. It’s a very pretty tune, quite catchy actually and has the most adorable lyrics that just make you fall in love. The name of this song is “Out Of My League” and it’s by Stephen Speaks. The piano playing and the lyrics made the perfect track. “It's a masterful melody when she calls out my name to me” is for sure my favorite one. This is definitely a good way to wake up even thou I went back to sleep listening to this song.

Since it's the beginning of the day, I’m drinking a black tea – Lovely Morning tea. That’s a blend of black tea, raspberries and lemongrass – the perfect combination of tastes. Just add some cream and it can turn into one of the most ideal morning rituals. It’s for me, categorically. Enjoy!

Paradise Circus

Let’s try some trip-hop again! I’m going to choose one of my all times favorites – “Paradise Circus” by Massive Attack featuring Hope Sandoval. This song has very sexual undertones; by having the word "paradise" in the title should make that a bit clearer. Hope Sandoval singing, or more like whispering, those lyrics captivates you immediately into another world. This is definitely a song that you can try the motion of the ocean on… I know I do :P

And if you are feeling reckless, try the Zeds Dead remix, trust me.

Now the tea. Since this song is so inviting, I’m thinking the tea should do the same, so let’s try the HotseeTotsee. That’s blend of black tea, chocolate, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, marshmallows, sparkling sugar & peppercorns. This will put you in the mood and give you the energy you need for it.

Stitches

Hey, guys!

Have you heard “Stitches” by Shawn Mendes? It took a while for this song to grow on me, but now I can see why people love it. This 16 year old artist has a great voice; the song has a great beat and interesting lyrics, that we can definitely call unique: “Just like a moth drawn to a flame/Oh, you lured me in, I couldn't sense the pain”. That’s just one of them :D

How about Sunny Disposition tea? It’s a mix of apple pieces, orange peel, orange pieces, white currant & saffron. And since it’s a sunny day, what else could fit it more perfectly and make everything go smoother? Well I say there’s nothing like these two paired together.

Purr

Today let’s try a smoother and a more calming tea, something that will help you with stress – StressRelief tea. That’s a mix of rooibos, lemongrass, raspberries, orange peel and lemon pieces. It’s exactly what you need in those hard days when all you wanna do is stay in bed.

“Purr” by Tides From Nebula. I’ve loved this song ever since I first heard it in a concert. It calmed me down and made me enjoy everything around me. And since then, when I feel stressed out, this seems to do the trick and helps me release all the bad energy. It’s a good song with a great intro and an ever greater finish. Enjoy it!
